ROBIN KHALFA
Robin is postdoctoral researcher in the BIGDATPOL research project. He obtained a PhD in Criminological Sciences (Ghent University, 2025). He holds a MSc in Criminological Sciences (Ghent University, 2021) and a MSc in Statistics and Data Science (KU Leuven, 2023). His research interests are new and emerging data sources in criminological research (big data), spatiotemporal criminology, statistics and data science, artificial intelligence and machine learning, evidence-based policing, and intelligence-led policing. In his doctoral research, he focused on important statistical-methodological and criminological questions with regard to big data policing.

Being part of a team that is pioneering the use of big data analytics to address pressing societal issues like crime prevention is incredibly fulfilling. This project allows me to apply my expertise to make a tangible difference in enhancing public safety and community well-being. Moreover, knowing that our efforts may contribute to building safer and more equitable societies resonates deeply with my values and sense of purpose.
